Business Hubs had their first networking night and meet up on 15th of February 2017 at their Nugegoda Business hub.
If you have still not heard of Business Hubs, they are a new countrywide network of Entrepreneur Co-Working centres established around Sri Lanka. It’s a co-working space for start up businesses, entrepreneurs, remote workers and small companies seeking a vibrant and supportive business community in which to thrive.
The ‘hub’ in Nugegoda was filled with many Sri Lankan entrepreneurs, corporates and of course the “hubbers (the co-workers who are already working there).”
Michael Moonasinghe is the CEO of Glover Daniels an International Human Capital consultancy based in Colombo and also the founder of Entrepreneur Hubs started the night by describing their vision for the future and how they are planning to support the Sri Lankan startup and business ecosystem.
Kajan Subash, a ‘hubber’ at Business Hubs shared his success story of creating InvoiceME, an online based accounting tool. Apparently Glover Daniels International and Business hubs is using InvoiceMe.
The third speaker was a renowned training and education specialist in the country, Dinali Dandeniya. She is the Divisional Manager – Consultancy at Glover Daniels International and gave a free talk on “How to improve your presentation skills.” She touched on how startups can effectively use presentations to achieve their goals.
The final speaker for the night was Dr. Erroll Weeransighe. He is also a prominent trainer in personal development and decision making. He enlightened the audience with some great tips and hacks on decision making and what need to be successful in the startup world.
The next Business Hubs Networking Meet up will be held once again at the Nugegoda Business hub at 208 Stanley Thilakerathne Mawatha, Nugegoda on 21 March, 2017 at 6.00 PM.
